While representing some of the largest brands in vacuum and compressed air products, the company also designs and manufactures an extensive range of water flow and management solutions for the water, waste, and industrial sectors.

Position

Mechanical Draughtsman - join our fast-paced engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed mechanical drawings for client approval, manufacturing, and fabrication purposes.
  • Work primarily in AutoCAD (required) and Inventor (beneficial).
  • Produce manufacturing drawings for the workshop and reference drawings for cutting and bending suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure drawings align with project requirements and measurements.
  • Manage drawing updates, revisions, and client feedback efficiently.
  • Support the workshop team with template printing, layout drawings, and clarifications when required.
  • Maintain a clear record of revisions, drawing registers, and document control.
  • Assist in prioritising multiple active projects – currently around 20+ drawings ranging from sluice gates, steel doors, skids, frames, pump station pipework, and support structures.
  • Provide input on design practicality and manufacturability.
Requirements
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (essential).
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D software (advantageous).
  • Strong mechanical design and drafting skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to visualise how components and assemblies will look and function in reality.
  • Some workshop or fabrication knowledge would be highly beneficial.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as cutting, bending, and assembly.
  • Strong communication skills – must be confident to ask questions, clarify details, or correct discrepancies when necessary.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Enjoys a collaborative environment and has a genuine interest in technical drawings and design.
Additional Notes

Site visits will be minimal; measurements are typically taken by clients or project managers.

The role involves close collaboration with a dynamic team, including two junior draughtsmen – we are open to either:

  • A Senior Draughtsman who can assist with technical oversight, mentoring, and drawing review.
  • A Junior Draughtsman eager to learn and grow within a busy engineering environment.
