An exciting opportunity has become available in our Maintenance department for a Sewing Machine Mechanic.

Responsibilities
  1. Repair and maintain a range of industrial sewing machines and allied sewing equipment.
  2. Set up and test run a range of industrial sewing machines and allied sewing equipment.
  3. Keep maintenance records and update maintenance reports.
  4. Conduct running maintenance.
  5. Assist and coach learner mechanics.
  6. Maintain and collect technical data for machinery and equipment.
  7. Adhere to and manage the preventative maintenance program on minor and major tasks.
  8. Folder repair.
  9. Assist with other tasks within the maintenance department.
Requirements
  1. Approximately 3-4 years of experience in industrial sewing machine maintenance within a clothing production environment.
  2. NQF4 Qualification in repairs and maintenance of sewing machines or an equivalent qualification (advantageous).
  3. Ability to work in a team and additional hours as required.
  4. Ability to work in a pressurized environment.
  5. Proficiency in reading and writing in English.
  6. Target-driven with a quick turnaround approach.

Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups in accordance with the Employment Equity Act.
