Job summary

A premier educational institution is seeking a Mathematics & Mathematical Literacy Teacher to foster enquiry-based learning and teach Grades 8-12. The ideal candidate has a relevant degree and SACE registration, with at least 3 years of experience in teaching Grade 12 Mathematics. Organisational Description

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (The Academy) is a world‑class educational platform for girls that is aimed at nurturing a new generation of dynamic women leaders.

This residential boarding school is situated in Meyerton, Gauteng Province, with just over students enrolled in Grades 8‑12.

Grade 12 students write the Independent Examination Board (I.E.B.) NSC Examination.

Minimum Academic Requirements and Experience
  • Relevant degree with a professional teaching qualification.
  • Proof of active registration with SACE.
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience in teaching Grade 12 Mathematics, and the ability to teach Mathematical Literacy up to Grade 12.
  • Ability and willingness to teach Mathematical Literacy in the FET band.
  • IEB and Further Studies Mathematics teaching, marking, and/or moderation will be an added advantage.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude

  • Knowledge of Mathematics curriculum design and assessment frameworks for Grades R to 12.
  • Skill in identifying and bridging students' learning gaps.
