Job summary

Aspen Pharma Group in South Africa seeks a Material Planner to ensure timely availability of materials for production. You will manage material requirements, inventory levels, purchase orders and supplier deliveries, while maintaining SAP planning data and identifying supply risks.

The role requires 4–6 years in material planning or related fields, strong SAP MM/WMRP experience, and collaboration with Production, Warehouse and Procurement teams to sustain uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in supply chain, logistics, procurement, operations or a related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in material planning, procurement, supply chain or inventory management.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Strong SAP experience with MM, WM, MRP and procurement modules.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor material requirements to ensure continuous supply to production.
• Monitor stock levels, safety stock, shortages and excess or obsolete inventory.
• Analyse MRP requirements and take action on material needs.
• Create and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Procurement, Finance and suppliers on material requirements.
• Expedite overdue or critical materials and escalate where needed.
• Maintain accurate material, supplier and planning data in SAP.
• Ensure SAP transactions and planning parameters are accurate and up to date.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and OTIF.
• Prepare reports on inventory, material availability, shortages, supplier performance and purchase orders.
• Identify supply chain risks and recommend solutions.

Job Requirements

Qualification:

• 4-6 years' relevant experience in Material Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain or Inventory Management.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong SAP experience, particularly MM, WM, MRP and Procurement.
• Experience in inventory planning, forecasting and supplier coordination.
