A Club is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and detail-focused individual with a marketing and/or PR background to manage all marketing and social media for the Club. This includes driving membership growth and promoting their events, restaurant, marina, and Academy. The ultimate goal is to improve revenue, grow sponsorship, and enhance the quality and offering of their sailing and club events. This is a full-time role that requires flexibility inworking hours. The position is based in Cape Town.

Responsibilities
  • Designing, implementing and managing a clear marketing planand social media plan for the year ahead, with a monthly break down andtargets.
  • Elevating and building the RCYC Brand on all platforms.
  • A clear workable marketing strategy.
  • Managing social media for all club events.
  • Sourcing and analysing the data from our social media to usein proposals for sponsors.
  • Formatting and building on our existing sponsorship tierstructure and relevant proposals for different events.
  • Presenting to potential sponsors, securing and maintainingrelationships with sponsors. Working with the sponsors to ensure allexpectations are clear and met.
  • Spending time with the sponsors at their events to ensurethey are happy. This is based on a flexible working week.
  • Working closely with Journalists to form partnerships andrelationships with the Club.
  • Working closely with the Heads of Department, in particularthe sailing manager to put on successful events with committed sponsors.
  • Managing a person allocated to the role of marketing andsocial media support.
Requirements
  • Fluent in English
  • 3 years’ experience in working as a marketing manager, designing,growing and elevating a brand.
  • Handling social media campaigns and managing the PR of a company.
  • Self-motivated to manage your own time with flexible hours/days.
  • Previous sport event management experience would be useful.
  • Able to exercise diplomacy and tact at all levels.
  • Able to function under extreme pressure.
  • Excellent problem solving, numerical and administrative skills.
  • High levels of keyboard skills as well as skills in MS Excel, MS Wordand MS Office and web-based programs
