Description
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies that align with global objectives while growing brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales in the South African market.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of marketing campaigns, from concept through execution and ensuring alignment with key buying cycles and promotional timelines.
  • Conduct ongoing research into market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behaviour to inform marketing decisions.
  • Partner with the graphic designer to produce visually engaging digital and print content that connects with the local audience.
  • Manage and implement digital marketing initiatives, including social media campaigns, email newsletters, and web content updates.
  • Assist in planning and executing local events, brand activations, and pop-up stores to strengthen brand visibility and engagement.
  • Ensure all marketing efforts maintain consistency with the brands identity and align with global messaging.
  • Measure and report on marketing performance, using insights to refine and enhance future campaigns.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 35 years in a marketing management role within the footwear industry or a closely related consumer goods sector.
  • Solid understanding of both strategic and operational marketing, with hands-on experience in campaign execution, digital marketing, key account management, and market research.
  • Proven ability to adapt and localise global marketing strategies to fit local market conditions.
  • Familiarity with seasonal buying patterns and promotional cycles within the footwear industry.
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to conceptualise and execute campaigns that drive engagement and sales.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Competent in digital marketing platforms and tools, including social media, Google Analytics, and email marketing systems.
  • Advantageous if you have a background in design or experience as a Desktop Publisher or graphic designer. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is beneficial.
