Main Purpose of Job
The Marketing Manager – Rx leads the prescription (doctor-focused) brand team, ensuring strategic excellence and execution across all HCP-targeted activities. This role drives the positioning, growth, and lifecycle management of the company's Rx brands, while maintaining the highest compliance and evidence-based standards. The Rx Marketing Manager will mentor and develop Rx Brand Managers to deliver effective HCP engagement, CME/CPD programs, and KOL advocacy that translate into prescription growth and sustained market leadership.
Key Performance Areas
- Strategic Leadership – develop overall Rx portfolio strategy, align brand-specific Rx strategies with medical, regulatory and sales priorities, oversee clinical positioning, claim substantiation and evidence-based marketing.
- HCP Marketing Excellence – ensure high-quality detail aids, objection handlers and leave-behinds, guide CME/CPD planning, advisory boards and KOL engagement, partner with Medical to ensure compliant and credible messaging, leverage digital detailing platforms to create, manage and track closed-loop detail aids, ensure Rx campaigns CLM compliant and deliver measurable call quality improvements.
- Team Leadership & Development – lead, coach and mentor Rx Brand Managers, build marketing capability, conduct performance reviews, skills development and succession planning.
- Market Insights & Analysis – analyse script data, competitor activity and HCP insights, translate market intelligence into actionable Rx marketing strategies, monitor ROI of HCP campaigns and adjust for maximum impact, use CLM analytics to pivot messaging and improve ROI.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration – partner with Sales, Medical, and Regulatory teams, provide strategic input to senior marketing, work with Supply Chain and Finance for accurate forecasting and budgeting.
- Compliance & Governance – ensure all Rx marketing activities comply with SAHPRA and industry codes, maintain rigorous approval processes for Rx campaigns and materials.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy or related field (MBA advantageous).
- Experience: 5+ years in Rx brand management or marketing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Skills: Strategic planning, KOL management, clinical communication, analytical capability and team leadership.
