The Opportunity: As a Marketing Assistant, you will be an integral part of the local marketing team, supporting the execution of brand strategies and marketing initiatives of Mattel brand. This role provides hands-on experience in product management and campaign execution while ensuring alignment with global brand guidelines. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including Sales, Media, PR to contribute to the success of our brands in the local market. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing while working with a globally recognized brand in a dynamic and creative industry. This position is based in Johannesburg and is part of the Mattel South Africa Marketing Team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of brand strategies and marketing action plans.
  • Contribute to media and digital marketing initiatives by coordinating content and campaigns.
  • Drive the execution of retail marketing activations and lead the creation of POS materials and shop-in-shop projects, managing all aspects from project definition to execution, including design, purchasing, and delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to execute marketing initiatives.
  • Help to prepare reports and presentations on brand activity performance.
Qualifications
  • Passion for the toy industry and an eagerness to learn about Mattel brands.
  • A team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data.
  • Strong interest in Brand Marketing, basic understanding of digital marketing and media channels (social media, e-commerce, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Competent handling of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Previous internship or project experience in marketing, FMCG, retail, or digital marketing is a plus.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
