About the Role

From integrating panels into larger systems to conducting functional tests, the technician plays a key part in maintaining high standards of reliability. Meticulous documentation, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration within the team contribute to the efficient and accurate production of cutting‑edge electronic devices. The in‑training role will also assist the storeman and gain exposure to stock control and logistics.

What You’ll Do
  • Keep production areas clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Provide general office administration assistance to the manufacturing manager.
  • Receive, check, and record stock deliveries.
  • Conduct testing and quality checks on incoming stock.
  • Pick and verify stock for manufacturing.
  • Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
  • Capture stock movements in the system (e.g., Unleashed).
  • Assist with regular stock counts and reconciliations.
  • Liaise with Accounts on invoices and stock queries.
  • Assemble enclosures, rails, trunking, and related components.
  • Ensure accurate and timely assembly to quality standards.
  • Perform QA tests on units and sub‑assemblies.
  • Document assembly details and maintain product records.
  • Update drawings and documentation with approved revisions.
  • Report and communicate potential delays to the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Oversee packing and dispatch of goods.
  • Prepare packaging, labelling, and shipment documents.
  • Take and file photos of consignments.
  • Coordinate collections / deliveries with couriers and drivers.
  • In absence of the storeman, verify that all relevant documentation accompanies the consignment on dispatch, e.g. shipping labels, invoices, packing lists, and any other necessary paperwork.
What We’re Looking For
  • Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year’ experience in electrical panel manufacturing or engineering field.
  • Technical product knowledge.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process.
  • Knowledge of electronic components.
  • Optional but Awesome: Diploma in Inventory management or related fields.
  • Ideal: Panels wiring and harness manufacturing certification.
  • Training in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
