Job description

An established property investment and management company, operating since, is seeking a Managing Director to join their team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.

With a primary focus on acquiring, developing, and managing properties in the commercial and industrial sectors, they also maintain a diverse portfolio spanning retail, commercial, and residential properties across South Africa.

As the MD, you will be responsible for the overall success and strategic direction of the company.

This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of the property investment landscape in South Africa, capable of steering the company towards sustained growth and profitability.

This will also suit a candidate who is considering relocating to the Western Cape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute business strategies to achieve the company's short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities and competitive threats.
  • Optimize workflows and processes.
  • Report to the Executive Board and work alongside the Financial Manager.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all regions.
  • Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring robust financial controls are in place.
  • Identify and pursue new investment opportunities in the industrial, commercial, retail, and residential property sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, investors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the executive team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure company adherence to legal guidelines, in-house policies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified CA(SA) and CGMA.
  • 5+ years of experience in a managerial/leadership role.
  • Experience in Property Management is highly preferred.
  • Experience in physical Asset Management is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of the Property Development and Property Investment industry.
  • Proven track record in Operational and Strategic Financial Leadership.
