Position: Manager Operations Projects

Qualifications:

  • Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
  • At least 7 years experience in a related role, with 3 years at a unit managerial level or in a functional/specialist area
  • Assertive, goal-oriented self-starter with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Creative and solutions-oriented
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Stress tolerant
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Medically fit to function in the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at a relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational

Advantageous:

  • NQF 7 (Bachelors Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Mining Engineering
  • Completion of a Middle/Executive Managerial Leadership Programme

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to business planning and company strategy to improve competitiveness, profitability, and growth
  • Recognizing and anticipating operational, technical, and safety challenges, taking action to prevent or overcome them, and seeking continuous improvement
  • Participating in the estimation and preparation of cost budgets for projects or sub-projects and monitoring and controlling actual costs against budget
  • Proposing capital expenditure projects when required to expand capacity or improve operations
  • Contributing to project initiation, scope definition, and scope change control
  • Leading and driving Underground Operations continuous improvement projects and initiatives
  • Driving a culture of Safety ownership with a strong emphasis on behaviour-based safety
