Summary Of The Position
The Manager – Instrument Pricing is responsible for ensuring that all security classes are accurately valued, thereby enabling the accurate valuation of client portfolios. Specifically, Apex is looking for a valuations expert to lead and manage the Security Valuations team. Apex is seeking an individual with proven industry experience in either asset management or fund administration, with specific security valuations experience being an absolute must.
Outline Of Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Monitoring service delivery by the teams in terms of SLA and managing clients' expectations regarding deliverables, including projects and new client/fund onboarding.
- Monitoring and resolving issues that have been identified.
- Management of the team responsible for service delivery of the various functions.
- Providing mentorship and motivation to staff and ensuring that appropriate knowledge sharing and skills training are provided.
- Aligning the teams' strategies and KPIs to that of the broader Apex strategy.
- Managing risk in the teams' activities by reviewing processes and ensuring that adequate controls are in place at all times.
- Reviewing incidents and corrective actions to ensure continuous improvements through the Apex risk management framework.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with external and internal clients.
- Ensuring that an SLA is in place and adhered to with external and internal clients.
- Working closely with the Client Management teams to ensure clients receive the optimal service levels.
- Assessing opportunities for efficiencies and reduced overhead in existing processes, including new technologies and vendors.
- Ensuring an adequate knowledge and understanding of global trends in security valuations.
- Collaboration with technology and development teams to implement process optimisation initiatives.
- Assume business ownership of Xceptor.
Skills And Experience Required
- B or similar tertiary business study and at least 5 years' experience in Asset Management and / or Administration.
- Minimum of 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong industry knowledge and experience, specifically within Security Valuations.
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
- Ability to manage leaders and projects in an agile environment.
- Ability to function well in a pressurised environment.
- Knowledge and experience of InvestOne and Xceptor an advantage, but not essential.
