Name of the Role: Manager Human Resources Business Partnering (HRBP)

Based: Johannesburg

Reports to: VP HRBP

Objective of the role

The Manager, Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) is a partner and consultant to business leaders, responsible for aligning people strategies with business goals to drive performance, growth, and employee engagement. This role partners closely with mid level leadership within the Development, Technological and Operations functions to provide proactive, strategic HR support and thought leadership on workforce planning, talent development, organizational design, and change management. The ideal candidate brings a strong business acumen, a deep understanding of HR best practices, and a proven track record in developing strategic HR initiatives in fast‑paced, complex environments.

Role Accountabilities
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to mid-level business leaders, guiding them on people strategies that support overall business objectives.
  • Partner with leadership on organizational design and workforce planning to ensure alignment with long‑term goals.
  • Take direction from and execute on annual HR programs in partnership with HR leadership.
  • Lead the implementation and adoption of key HR programs, including talent management, succession planning, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Act on all employee complaints and suggestions.
  • Use data and analytics to provide insights and drive decision‑making around talent trends, organizational health, and workforce productivity.
  • Coach and influence departmental managers to strengthen leadership capabilities, improve team effectiveness, and manage change.
  • Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (COEs) such as Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Learning & Development, and Diversity & Inclusion to deliver integrated HR solutions.
  • Drive and support change management initiatives across the business, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies across the organization.
  • Ensure alignment of HR practices with business policies, regulatory requirements, and organizational values.
  • Monitor and address employee relations matters in a proactive and legally compliant manner, promoting a positive and inclusive work culture.
Education & Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
