A government entity in South Africa is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance services and ensure optimal building performance. This role involves developing preventative strategies, managing maintenance projects, and preparing detailed reports. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong management skills and the ability to work under pressure. This position encourages applications from marginalized groups.
To manage our facilities maintenance services, ensuring optimal building equipment performance, compliance and cost effectiveness. Responsibilities include ensuring preventative maintenance, managing the maintenance team, driving continuous improvement to reduce possible downtime and to enhance building operations.
The role reports to the Manager: Security Administration and Facilities Business Unit.
The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: A high level of judgement, confidence and decisive approach, show a high level of judgement, the ability to analyse problems, the ability to gather information; the ability to manage projects; be able to interact effectively with senior staff/ industry partners and stakeholders; and organise, lead and motivate a team in order to meet individual and work group goals; ability to work effectively under pressure whilst upholding an emphasis on quality.
