Manager: Contracts | Pretoria or Nelspruit | Permanent

Play a pivotal role in strengthening governance, compliance, and value delivery across complex commercial contracts. This is an opportunity to lead a high-impact contracts function within a structured, regulated environment.

This role is responsible for managing the full contract lifecycle within the Supply Chain Management environment, ensuring that all contracts and service level agreements are compliant, commercially sound, and aligned to organisational strategy. The position requires close collaboration with legal, finance, procurement, and operational stakeholders to ensure effective execution, risk management, and value optimisation across supplier agreements.

The successful incumbent will lead the development, review, negotiation, and administration of contracts while embedding strong internal controls and governance frameworks. This includes overseeing supplier performance, managing contract risk, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement in contract management practices.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle from drafting and negotiation through to execution and close-out
  • Develop and implement contract management policies, procedures, templates, and controls
  • Ensure compliance with PFMA, PPPFA, Treasury Regulations, and B-BBEE requirements
  • Lead contract risk management, audits, and internal control processes
  • Oversee supplier performance against SLAs and manage dispute resolution where required
  • Maintain accurate contract registers and support financial and regulatory audits
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, legal, and business units to align commercial outcomes
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and support strategic sourcing objectives
  • Lead and develop contract administration resources
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Commercial Law, Contracts Management, or related field (NQF Level 7)
  • Postgraduate qualification in a related field (NQF Level 8) is advantageous
  • MCIPS certification is advantageous
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in contracts management within supply chain, including at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Proven experience in a public sector or highly regulated environment
  • Strong working knowledge of PFMA, PPPFA, Treasury Regulations, and B-BBEE Codes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder and supplier relationships
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and governance capabilities
