Job description

DP World City of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth through the acquisition of new customers and the development of strategic accounts within the Contract Logistics business.

Key Performance Areas
  • Sales & Business Development: Identify, engage, and convert new business opportunities across key industry verticals.
  • Lead the end-to-end sales cycle including lead qualification, RFQs, pricing proposals, contract negotiations, and deal closure.
  • Drive cross-selling and up-selling initiatives to maximise revenue within existing accounts.
  • Develop and present customer-centric Contract Logistics solutions aligned with client needs and strategic goals.
  • Conduct price modelling and craft pricing strategies, securing approval through governance forums.
  • Generate opportunities to infuse digital innovation into client solutions.
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with senior and executive-level customer stakeholders.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for strategic client servicing and escalation resolution.
  • Lead key engagements to co-create opportunities for operational improvement.
Strategic Account Management
  • Drive account planning and sales forecasting processes across strategic client accounts.
  • Formulate and implement retention and growth strategies in collaboration with operating companies.
  • Ensure seamless client onboarding and handover to operations, including contract finalisation and compliance.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Analyse and interpret data to produce detailed reports on trends, discrepancies, and performance against planned activities.
  • Monitor and report monthly progress against profitability targets and forecasts.
People & Culture
  • Implement workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Create an enabling and productive work climate aligned with organisational values and the employee value proposition.
Qualifications Required
  • Relevant bachelor's degree (e.g., Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management).
  • Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) preferred.
  • Postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.
