Job summary

A leading retail company in Pretoria is seeking a Clothing Department Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure sales growth and customer service excellence. The ideal candidate should have at least Grade 12 and 2–3 years of retail management experience, along with strong leadership and communication skills. Responsibilities include executing visual merchandising, driving sales, and enhancing customer satisfaction. The closing date for applications is 17 October.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of supervisory/management experience in retail, preferably clothing/fashion.
• Knowledge of visual merchandising, promotions, and stock processes.
• Proven track record of delivering sales and shrink targets.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Clothing department sales and profit targets.
• Implement shrink control processes and enforce security standards.
• Execute visual merchandising and promotional guidelines.
• Oversee stock management and ensure correct size availability.
• Ensure customers receive excellent service and handle escalated queries.
• Lead and motivate the Clothing department team.
• Ensure pricing and labelling accuracy.
• Maintain hygiene and safe working standards.

Sales & ProfitabilityDeliver Clothing department sales and profit targets.With the support of the Area Manger - Monitor daily sales reports and take corrective action on underperforming categories.Identify opportunities for upselling and promotional execution.2.

Shrinkage & SecurityImplement shrink control processes (fitting room monitoring, stock rotation, damages).

Enforce security and loss prevention standards.Escalate shrink risks to Store Manager and Area Manager.3.

Merchandising & StandardsExecute visual merchandising (VM) and promotional guidelines as directed by PnP Clothing.Maintain outstanding floor condition, signage, and displays.Ensure promotional and markdown execution is timely and accurate.4.

Stock ManagementOversee delivery processes, GRV accuracy and replenishment from backup.Manage stock rotation, ensuring correct size availability and seasonal relevance.Report stock issues and coordinate markdowns / returns.5.

Customer ServiceEnsure all customers receive excellent service.Respond to escalated queries and complaints courteously and effectively.Lead by example in being customer centric and service driven.6.

People ManagementLead and motivate the Clothing department team.Allocate daily tasks and monitor execution.Conduct coaching, performance management and basic disciplinary actions.Identify training needs and liaise with HR / Area Manager for development support.Give daily / weekly / monthly feedback on scheduling / absenteeism / late coming (edits) to Workforce Manager.7.

Promotions & PricingEnsure pricing and labelling accuracy.Execute promotions and markdowns to Clothing divisional standards.Provide feedback on product performance to Area Manager.8.

Compliance & AdministrationMaintain hygiene, housekeeping and safe working standards in floor and backup.With support of the Area Manager - Complete daily, weekly and monthly Clothing admin and reporting.Ensure full compliance with store, legal and Clothing business policies.Closing date : 17 October
