Mediclinic Southern Africa is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for ER24 at a Secunda branch to lead daily operations and implement the site strategy. You will oversee EMS operations, HR, OHS, and governance while driving clinical support and risk management.

Qualifications

• Essential education: Senior Certificate with University Entrance and ILS Certification.
• Desirable education: ALS Certification and National Diploma in Business Management.
• Essential minimum experience: 3 years operational experience; 2 years supervisory experience.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To manage and implement the operational strategy of ER24 at a branch level that ensures the aims and objectives are met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

To oversee and manage the daily operational requirements of the site

To oversee the Human Resources of the site

To manage the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) of the site

To support ER24 via branch-specific marketing initiatives

Deliver operational clinical support while managing risks and improving clinical performance and governance

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Senior Certificate with University Entrance
ILS Certification

DESIRED EDUCATION: ALS Certification National Diploma in Business Management

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years operational experience; 2 years supervisory experience

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years operational experience, 2 -3 years management experience

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Demonstrate a working knowledge of the operational EMS environment
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge of all EMS qualifications with the HPCSA framework
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the healthcare industry
• Demonstrates a basic understanding of all functions and processes within a private hospital environment, and how disciplines interact with each other
• Applies sound budgeting and financial planning/management principles
• Demonstrates understanding and correct application of business metrics, governance, and risk management
• Demonstrates a good understanding of contract and service level agreement (SLA) management
• Demonstrates a good understanding of Funders of Healthcare
• Demonstrates a good understanding and application of all relevant legislative regulations
• Demonstrate knowledge of Industrial Relations procedures and processes
• Demonstrate sound competence in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Demonstrate ability in FMS (Fleet Management System), Statistics Portal, and CRS
• HPCSA guidelines and scope of practice
• Operational workforce planning and rostering principles
• Labour relations dispute management and case handling
• Incident and accident report management
• Clinical quality improvement and audit processes
