Introduction

Leads bakery operations to drive sales, minimise waste and shortages, and ensure compliance with all policies, standards, and food-safety requirements. Responsible for delivering fresh, appealing products, exceptional customer service, and efficient in-store production through effective staff, stock, and daily operational management.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead daily bakery operations to deliver fresh, high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure appealing product displays and full shelves by store opening, driving sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain strict food-safety, hygiene, and housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Monitor product quality, stock levels, and production plans to minimise waste and avoid out-of-stocks.
  • Execute promotional plans and ensure accurate product labelling, pricing, and merchandising.
  • Coach, guide, and motivate bakery staff to deliver high performance and outstanding service.
  • Manage scheduling, task allocation, and daily workflow for efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor sales and waste trends, taking action to maximise profits and meet targets.
  • Ensure equipment is well-maintained and working safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate stock, system updates, and store communication to support smooth operations.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Matric/ Grade 12
  • Preferably NQF 3 Bakery qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years Baker experience
  • Experience as a Baker / Bakery Supervisor
  • The incumbent may also be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
  • This position will require transferability between stores.
