Placements24 is seeking a driven Management Consultant with a Supply Chain Optimization focus to join a top-tier consultancy in Midrand, Gauteng. The role blends office collaboration with remote flexibility and focuses on improving procurement, logistics, inventory management, and demand planning.

You will analyze end-to-end supply chain processes, design strategies, and implement best practices, while traveling to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in SCM, logistics, engineering, business or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in supply chain consulting or similar role.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, ERP, WMS and TMS.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize end-to-end supply chain processes including planning, sourcing, manufacturing and distribution.
• Develop strategies to improve inventory management, reduce lead times and forecast accuracy.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains within the supply chain.
• Collaborate with clients to design and implement supply chain solutions leveraging technology.

About the Role

Our client, a top-tier management consultancy, is seeking a driven Management Consultant with a specialization in Supply Chain Optimization to join their team based in Midrand, Gauteng, ZA . This role is integral to helping clients enhance their supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and build resilient networks. You will engage in complex problem-solving, developing innovative strategies, and implementing best practices across procurement, logistics, inventory management, and demand planning. This hybrid position offers a blend of collaborative office-based work and remote flexibility, allowing you to contribute effectively to client success. You will be at the forefront of driving operational improvements for businesses operating within and beyond the Midrand area.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize end-to-end supply chain processes, including planning, sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory management, reduce lead times, and enhance forecast accuracy.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains within the supply chain.
• Collaborate with clients to design and implement supply chain solutions, leveraging technology and best practices.
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the supply chain.
• Manage project workstreams, ensuring deliverables are met on time and to the highest standard.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, clearly communicating findings and recommendations.
• Support business development activities by contributing to proposals and client relationship building.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in supply chain consulting or a related operational role.
• Solid understanding of supply chain principles, best practices, and technologies (e.g., ERP, WMS, TMS).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
• Experience with project management methodologies.
• Familiarity with the business landscape in Gauteng is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed, alongside hybrid work arrangements.
