Job summary

MyCareerCraft is seeking a hands-on Management & Cost Accountant to join the Ekurhuleni finance team on a permanent basis. You will report to the Financial Manager and drive cost control, management reporting and decision support for manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has a BCom or Diploma in financial management and experience with cost and management accounting in a manufacturing environment, with strong Excel and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Requires BCom or Diploma in Financial Management, Management Accounting or Cost Management.
• CIMA articles preferred.
• Experience in management and cost accounting in manufacturing environment.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience.
• Strong bank, supplier, customer, inventory and fixed asset reconciliations.
• Budgeting, forecasting and cost control experience.
• Exposure to foreign exchange and multi-currency accounting.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and KPI dashboards.
• Handle month-end journals, accruals, reconciliations, and year-end close.
• Manage budgets, rolling forecasts and five-year financial planning.
• Perform cost and margin analysis including standard costing and BOM variances.
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register and CAPEX tracking.
• Submit VAT and support payroll-related processes.
• Analyse FX exposure and impact on pricing and margins.
• Review pricing structures across business units.
• Collaborate with operations, sales and management to provide financial insight.

REQUIREMENTS

• BCom or Diploma in Financial Management, Management Accounting or Cost Management.
• CIMA articles
• Solid experience in management and cost accounting - ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Advanced Excel skills; ERP system experience
• Strong reconciliation skills across bank, creditors, debtors, inventory and fixed assets.
• Good working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
• Exposure to foreign exchange and multi-currency accounting
• Sharp analytical mind with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communicator - comfortable engaging with both finance and non-finance stakeholders

Duties

• Prepare monthly management accounts, KPI dashboards and variance reports.

• Perform cost and margin analysis - standard costing, BOM accuracy, labour and production variances.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and manage CAPEX tracking.
• Submit VAT returns and support PAYE, UIF, SDL and provisional tax processes.
• Analyse foreign exchange exposure and its impact on pricing and margins.
• Review and update pricing structures across business units.
• Liaise with auditors and ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
• Partner with operations, sales and management to provide financial insight
