Job summary

Fruitways is seeking a disciplined Management Accountant to support our Packing Services units across three sites in the Grabouw/Vyeboom region, with a base in Grabouw. You will prepare monthly packs, forecast, and budget processes while ensuring alignment with Group Finance.

Reporting to the Group Financial Manager, you will travel between sites, build relationships with stakeholders, and enhance internal controls, cost accounting and capital expenditure reviews.

Qualifications

• BCom Management Accounting degree or equivalent with CIMA/SAIPA registration.
• 5+ years of experience, preferably in a production environment.
• 2+ years of management experience.
• Strong understanding of the link between financial and operational processes.
• Proven financial modelling skills.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve monthly management packs, evaluate reports, and facilitate forecasting and budgeting process
• Ensure compliance with Group Finance objectives, translating them into efficient operational business processes. Maintaining effective communication with Group Finance
• Interpret financial data, adjusting forecasts, aligning critical volume drivers, and reporting findings to stakeholders
• Review internal controls, propose improvements, and regularly assess financial and operational risks
• Support packhouses with their financial analysis and propose solutions for business process improvements and project analysis requests
• Manage and challenge capital expenditure requirements
• Review procurement practices, controls and disciplines to ensure compliance to best practise
• Cost accounting exercises to support operational KPI’S
• Formulate activity-based cost and revenue models to improve operational decision-making and profitability

Management Accountant

We have an exciting career opportunity for a self-disciplined and confident individual who will perform a supporting role to our Packing Services business units. Your ability to work independently and accurately in a pressurised environment as well as building interpersonal relationships will be advantageous.

Requirements

• BCom Management Accounting Degree or relevant accounting qualification with CIMA, SAIPA or similar regristration
• 5+ years relevant experience, preferably servicing a production environment
• 2+ years minimum management experience
• Proven understanding of interrelationship between financial and operational processes
• Strong financial modelling skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• The successful candidate needs a good sense for attention to detail, project management skills, written and verbal communication, ability to maintain internal and external stakeholder relations
