A vacancy has arisen in Cape Town for a suitably qualified Management Accountant.
Reporting directly to the Financial Manager, the successful candidate will be a competent, dynamic, highly energetic and assertive professional with at least 3 years in a similar position. The purpose of the role is to analyse key financial information to aid management's planning and decision making.
To ensure accurate and complete cost and income allocations to assist management in operational decision making.
Maintaining and establishing information systems used in the financial reporting process.
KEY RESULT AREAS
- Financial Administration: Providing a margin analysis determining the company's cash flow.
- Managing the accuracy and completeness of cost and income allocations.
- Identifying financial constraints that may impact on the company's performance.
- Calculate and report standard cost recovery rates by commodity, customer, terminal, business unit, etc, and produce profit and loss statements.
- Calculate, monitor, and report actual versus standard rate variances.
- Regularly monitor and review to ensure that the system is in sync in terms of actual and recovered costs and update at least once a quarter.
- Review monthly income statement.
- Attend to internal general financial enquiries.
- Assist Terminal Management with financial management projects.
- Ensure that monthly IDU (Budgeting and Forecasting tool) & Sage ERP reports are accurate and in line with financial policies and business rules.
- Creation and maintenance of product codes to be used within the information systems.
Management of junior staff members.
Shared Services function, assisting with the processing and management of monthly accounting transactions, and SARS submission on behalf of other entities serviced by the Finance Shares Services department.

- Analyze financial trends and identify the cost, variances, reasons, and present to the Financial Manager
- Provide administrative support to the Financial Manager by collating financial records for management submissions
- Prepare accurate and up to date costing reports and ensure that all accounts are updated
