Overview
JOB OVERVIEW : The Maintenance Planner plays a key role in coordinating and scheduling all planned maintenance work, ensuring that technicians have the necessary parts, tools and information to complete tasks efficiently and minimize equipment downtime. Creating work orders, managing spare parts and using systems like a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track assets, history and costs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field or Trade test Certificate
- Valid code 08 driver\'s license and own reliable transport
- 3 -5 years proven experience in maintenance planning or a similar role within a manufacturing
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other planning tools
- Strong understanding of maintenance best practices, including preventive, and corrective maintenance

Key Responsibilities
- Work Order Management : Prioritize and develop work orders based on equipment needs and urgency, review completed orders for documentation and cost control and ensure availability of necessary resources for maintenance activities.
- Preventive Maintenance Scheduling : Create and manage preventive maintenance schedules, collaborate with technicians to minimize downtime, and ensure predictive maintenance techniques are used with timely corrective actions based on manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
- Resource Coordination : Coordinate with teams and contractors to ensure resource availability, maintain updated inventory of spare parts and materials, and manage stock levels to prevent shortages or delays in maintenance activities.
- Data Management and Reporting : Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, prepare reports on efficiency, resource use, and downtime, and analyze historical data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify improvement areas in maintenance, develop strategies to enhance performance, and collaborate with engineering to implement equipment and process improvements, reducing downtime and boosting operational efficiency.
- Project Management Support : Support the planning and coordination of major maintenance projects, shutdowns, and overhauls, while providing regular updates on project progress, resource allocation, and timelines to the Maintenance Manager and relevant teams.
