An automotive manufacturing company is looking for a Maintenance Technician to ensure effective planning and execution of all maintenance operations. Candidates should possess a NQF Level Grade 12 and a diploma or degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, along with at least three years of relevant experience. Proficiency in CMMS software is essential, and skills in planning and problem-solving are critical. The position requires strong communication and organizational abilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in production, maintenance, or planning.
  • Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric concepts.

Job description
Overview

Primary purpose of the job: Ensure effective planning and execution of all preventative and corrective maintenance activities.

Responsibilities
  • Analyse captured data and generated reports and graphs as required by management
  • Create maintenance schedules and generate work orders
  • Maintain parts inventory and critical spare parts identification
  • Create maintenance report (Downtime analysis, energy savings, oil consumption, compressor hours)
  • Update maintenance file and server documentation
  • Update legal documentations (parallelism, cranes, forklifts, oil samples, IR scanning, COCs)
  • Create procedural manuals that explain how to do certain tasks
  • Estimate costs of labour and parts for industrial equipment
  • Adjust schedules to account for emergency work
  • Assist and support GL & maintenance manager with reports
  • Serve as a liaison between maintenance and operations
  • Maintain records and files essential to maintenance management (Legal compliance files)
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff, contractors, and external vendors
  • Prepare preventative maintenance plans that are aligned with the organisation's maintenance goals
  • Record and update skills matrix and Radar Chart files for Artisans Technicians and Specialist
  • Knowledge and Skills in: Asset management, Inventory control, Procurement & Purchasing
  • SH&E Requirements (Compliance/Load test, Inspections)

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of TPM (PM, CM, PredM)
  • SHE Requirements (Compliance/Load test, Inspections)
  • Understand & read technical manuals and drawings
Minimum Requirements
  • NQF Level Grade 12
  • N6/Diploma/Degree in Maintenance/Management/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with maintenance or organisational planning background
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in production/ maintenance /planning ideally within automotive manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as Artisan/Technician
  • Experience with CMM i.e. SAP/Maximo/Uptime/Power BI
