Job summary

HotelJobs is seeking a Maintenance Manager for a 5‑Star Luxury Private Game Lodge in Madikwe. You will lead a team of eight to ensure preventative maintenance, safety and smooth operations that meet the lodge’s high standards.

The role requires hands-on technical skills, proactive leadership and the ability to coordinate with multiple departments to keep guest experiences seamless. A strong focus on safety and energy systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ hospitality maintenance experience
• Proven experience in maintenance management and team leadership in lodge/hotel
• Strong practical knowledge of electrical, plumbing and building maintenance
• Experience with air‑conditioning systems, geysers, pumps, pools and water systems
• Knowledge of solar systems and basic electrical troubleshooting
• Hands-on approach with basic administrative skills (emails, Excel, Word)
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of lodge facilities, staff areas and grounds to 5‑star standards
• Lead a team of 8; assign tasks and ensure preventative maintenance
• Maintain fire plans, drills and safety compliance
• Manage stock, tools and spares; ensure neat inventory
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance with external mechanics
• Support other departments as needed and assist during emergencies
• Monitor solar plant upkeep and optimize energy usage
• Conduct staff training and ensure adherence to health and safety policies
• Perform after-hours emergency maintenance as required
• Conduct monthly stock takes and reporting
