Maintenance Manager - Randburg

Job Summary

Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations within a manufacturing facility in Randburg, Gauteng. The role involves managing maintenance processes, equipment, and staff to ensure continuous production, safety, and compliance. Responsibilities include implementing maintenance strategies, handling breakdowns, and optimizing resources.

Top Responsibilities
  1. Maintenance Ownership & Reporting: Act as the maintenance owner in the TPM management system and update reports. Oversee defect handling and provide feedback for maintenance reporting.
  2. Equipment & Breakdown Management: Manage breakdowns and equipment failures, formulate spares plans, ensure regular maintenance, and oversee equipment installation and modernization.
  3. Staffing & Resource Optimization: Develop staffing plans, optimize resource allocation, and lead team training and performance management.
  4. Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations; develop safety procedures; oversee spare parts and tools management.
  5. Project Management & Continuous Improvement: Manage engineering projects, implement maintenance programs, and establish contingency plans.
  6. Collaboration & Reporting: Prepare maintenance orders, coordinate with other departments, and maintain documentation for stock control and asset transfer.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Millwright or diploma).
  • Minimum of five years' engineering and maintenance experience, preferably in the food or bakery processing industry.
  • Supervisory experience in manufacturing, with knowledge of refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and controls.
  • Experience in project management and preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of GMPs, sanitation, HACCP, and OSHA standards.
