Our client, a leader in the Automotive Component Manufacturing Sector, is seeking to employ an experienced Maintenance Manager to their team based in Uitenhage, Eastern Cape.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) qualification advantageous.
- 10+ years of supervisory experience in a sizable manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated track record of job progression, stability, and measurable impact.
- Resourceful with high energy and a sense of urgency.
- Extremely reliable and self-motivated.
- Capable of multi-tasking.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Lead the maintenance team to observe all safety programs ensuring the protection of all plant employees and visitors.
- Direct the analysis of mechanical and operational problems on plant equipment, overseeing planning and corrective action.
- Maintain proper records for Process Safety Management procedures and requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering staff to facilitate project completions.
- Represent the company’s position in dealings with contractors, vendors, and consultants.
- Prepare purchase orders for equipment and service acquisitions.
- Oversee continuous monitoring of production and processing equipment.
- Create, implement, and maintain a preventative maintenance program.
- Maintain certifications for calibrated equipment, maintenance documentation, and machine history.
- Ensure organization of the Maintenance Repair Area and work-in-progress areas.
- Prepare daily activity plans for maintenance personnel.
- Apply effective management principles in hiring, promotion, performance reviews, and motivation of employees.
- Perform any other duties that ensure successful company operation.
