A leader in the automotive manufacturing sector in Durban is seeking a skilled Maintenance Foreman to oversee plant maintenance operations. This role involves managing a multidisciplinary team, ensuring equipment reliability, controlling maintenance budgets, and driving continuous improvement in safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a maintenance leadership role and strong technical qualifications.

Qualifications

  • 10 years’ experience in a similar maintenance leadership role.
  • Experience with metal pressing machines and automotive manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, maintenance schedules, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise maintenance teams (fitters, electricians, welders, etc.).
  • Plan, delegate, and monitor daily maintenance activities.
  • Ensure equipment uptime and plant reliability.
  • Implement and enforce safety and quality standards.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, orders, and contractor relationships.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
