Job summary

A leading manufacturing company in South Africa seeks to employ an experienced Fitter and Turner at their plant in Kuils River. This role requires a trade-tested professional with around 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and the ability to work shifts. Responsibilities include maintaining and upgrading machinery, ensuring adherence to safety procedures, and minimizing waste in the workshop.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Grade 12.
• N3 minimum in Mechanical Engineering.
• Trade tested as Fitter & Turner ESSENTIAL.
• Around 5 years’ post apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Able/willing to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical maintenance of plant machinery.
• Upgrading and modifying existing machinery.
• Machining & manufacturing of parts as required.
• Maintain minimum waste percentages in workshop within the prescribed target.
• Ensure that ISO Best Practices / Money Business are adhered to.
• Ensure that safe work procedures are followed.
