Job summary

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking to employ an experienced Fitter and Turner in Kuils River, Cape Town. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of Grade 12, N3 in Mechanical Engineering, and be trade tested as a Fitter & Turner. Responsibilities include mechanical maintenance of plant machinery, upgrading machinery, and following safety procedures. Shift work is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Grade 12.
• N3 minimum in Mechanical Engineering.
• Trade tested as Fitter & Turner is essential.
• Around 5 years' post apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical maintenance of plant machinery.
• Upgrading and modifying existing machinery.
• Machining & manufacturing of parts as required.
• Maintain minimum waste percentages in workshop.
• Ensure that ISO Best Practices are adhered to.
• Ensure that safe work procedures are followed.

For the position you would be required to have:

• Minimum of Grade 12
• N3 minimum in Mechanical Engineering
• Trade tested as Fitter & Turner ESSENTIAL
• Around 5 years’ post apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment
• Able/willing to work shifts

Responsibilities would include you to:

• Mechanical maintenance of plant machinery
• Upgrading and modifying existing machinery
• Machining & manufacturing of parts as required
• Maintain minimum waste percentages in workshop within the prescribed target
• Ensure that ISO Best Practices / Money Business are adhered to
• Ensure that safe work procedures are followed
