Job summary

Role Description The Maintenance Electrician is a full-time, on-site role based in Emalahleni. The role involves performing routine electrical maintenance on building and industrial systems, including inspections, testing, and adjustments to ensure safe and efficient operation. Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical faults, troubleshooting issues, and carrying out repairs and replacements on equipment, wiring, and fixtures. The Maintenance Electrician will implement preventive maintenance schedules, keep accurate records of work performed, and report any major issues or risks to supervisors. The role also requires adherence to safety regulations, collaboration with other trades and project teams, and support during installation or upgrade projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Operation of Medium Voltage Network Certificate
• Trade test
• Three Phase Wireman's License
• Strong skills in Electrical Maintenance and practical knowledge of Electricity for building and industrial environments.
• Ability to perform effective Troubleshooting and diagnose electrical faults accurately and safely.
• Experience in Maintenance & Repair of electrical systems, equipment, and components.
• Competence in planning and executing Preventive Maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Electrician in construction, industrial, or engineering settings.
• Solid understanding of electrical safety standards, codes, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and within a team.
• Willingness to work on-site in Emalahleni, with flexibility for occasional overtime or call-outs as operational needs arise.
