A leading FMCG company is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator in Brakpan, South Africa. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of maintenance tasks and developing plans to prevent breakdowns. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of practical experience, preferably in the FMCG industry, along with a qualification in engineering. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on safety and maintenance standards.

You will be in charge of ensuring your team executes all tasks related to maintenance and the general upkeep of your area. This role is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities are done on time, as and when required. In this role you will be responsible for devising maintenance plans to mitigate breakdowns, this involves maintenance protocol for all machinery as well as daily upkeep for non‑mechanical maintenance. It is the Maintenance Coordinator’s responsibility to make sure that all health and safety procedures are followed to ensure a safe working environment. You will be responsible for maintaining inventory for supplies and managing all asset care KPI (CM, MPA, MTTR, MTBF) including a utilities budget.
Core knowledge – Basic hand tools to perform basic repairs, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SAP or Oracle.
Academic – Analytical skill, commercial acumen, problem solving. National Diploma, BTech in Mech Eng / Elec Eng / Chem Eng.
Leadership – Managing change, owning it, developing myself and others, staying a step ahead.
Personal Effectiveness – Effective communication, interpersonal skills, integrity, creativity, continuous learning.
Function – 3+ years practical experience, degree or technical certification.
Industry – Experience in FMCG industry, strong knowledge of steam plant, LP & HP compressed air, generators & AVS, water treatment and WWT. Have managed utilities shutdown.
Competency – Understanding the OHSA, studying towards GCC.
