Job summary

A leading chemicals and energy company in Sasolburg is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance of mechanical systems. Responsibilities include assisting artisans with pumps and fans, conducting lubrication inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates must have a Grade 12 with Maths and Science and a valid driver's license. The role requires 2-3 years' maintenance experience and familiarity with rotating equipment.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Familiar with rotating equipment, e.g. pumps, bearings.
  • Basic hand tools knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of oils and grease.
  • Basic knowledge of gaskets and gasket cutting.
  • Must be able to do standby and work overtime.

  • Assist artisans on all types of pumps, fans and blowers.
  • Conduct daily lubrication inspections.
  • Comply to safety standards and procedures.
  • Feedback to customer regarding machine condition.

Purpose of Job

To support with the maintenance of mechanical / electro-mechanical / electro-mechanical systems and equipment.

To operate mechanical / electro-mechanical devices and systems, and accurately and efficiently collect field data to ensure optimum productivity.

Key Accountabilities
  • Operational, Financial and Technical Results: Assist Artisans on all types of pumps, fans and blowers.

  • Conduct daily lubrication inspections and topping up oil and greasing of pump / blower / fan bearing housing.

Formal Education
  • Grade 12 with Maths and Science or NQF2 (MUST)
  • Valid Code 8 or Code B drivers licence (MUST)
