Qualifications

  • Must have a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or be willing to obtain.
  • Must have a current First Aid Certificate HLTAID003.
  • Formal qualifications in Disability Community Services or similar would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Mentoring and developing customers' personal interests and hobbies.
  • Coaching customers on independent living skills.
  • Administering medication and following individual support plans.
  • Completing handover notes and incident reports.
  • Providing personal care as needed.
  • Helping customers engage with community activities.
  • Working a variety of shifts, including weekends.

Job description
Disability Support Worker

Location: Warabrook NSW.

Must be happy to do some personal care. Must have full NSW Drivers Licence and Full Comprehensive Insurance.

Lifestyle Solutions provide innovative and flexible person-centered support for people living with a disability. Support Worker to assist a customer to become more independent in their own home and in the community.

Responsibilities
  • Mentoring and skill development guiding customers to explore and develop their personal interests / hobbies.
  • Coaching independent living skills such as cooking domestic and social skills.
  • Administering medication and adherence to individual support plans.
  • Completing clear concise and factual handover notes and incident reports.
  • Providing personal care such as toileting showering feeding and dressing when required.
  • Helping customers engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities.
  • Personal care is a must and must be comfortable and knowledgeable in doing so.
  • Diabetes knowledge or training is ideal.
  • Peg feeding knowledge is ideal.
  • Community Access will also be a requirement at certain times.
  • Be willing to work a variety of shifts which includes mornings afternoons evenings awake shifts sleepovers and weekends.
  • Versatile communication skills including the ability to interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers.
  • Current drivers license (mandatory requirement).
