About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Logistics & Supply Chain Analyst to join their remote team. This is a pivotal role focused on optimizing our client's logistics network, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing data-driven solutions to enhance operational performance and reduce costs. You will be instrumental in analyzing transportation data, inventory management, and supply chain processes to drive strategic decision-making. This role requires a strong quantitative background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly and concisely. As a remote contractor, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa, contributing to our client's success through your expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze logistics data, including transportation costs, delivery times, and carrier performance.
• Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies within the supply chain and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key logistics and supply chain metrics (KPIs).
• Model and forecast demand, inventory levels, and transportation needs.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement process improvements.
• Research and evaluate new logistics technologies and strategies.
• Assist in the negotiation of freight rates and carrier contracts.
• Prepare presentations and reports for management on supply chain performance and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant logistics and trade regulations.
• Support the development and execution of supply chain strategies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Logistics Analyst, Supply Chain Analyst, or similar analytical role.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python).
• Experience with supply chain management software and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Excellent understanding of logistics operations, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience in creating data visualizations and performance dashboards.
• Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
• Must be comfortable working as an independent contractor.
