Job summary

A leading chrome mining operation in Limpopo is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to enhance site efficiency and productivity. Key responsibilities include managing fuel logistics, overseeing ore stockpiles, and coordinating internal haulage. The ideal candidate has a relevant degree, at least 5 years of experience in logistics within a mining environment, and strong leadership skills.

Qualifications

Job description

Are you an experienced Logistics Manager with a passion for optimizing fuel usage, stockpile management, and fleet coordination? Join a leading chrome mining operation in Limpopo and make a real impact on site efficiency and productivity. We are seeking a highly competent Logistics Manager to oversee our on-site logistics function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage site-wide fuel and oil logistics : Ordering, usage tracking, and storage compliance
  • Oversee all ore stockpiles, including movement, volume tracking, and quality classification
  • Plan and coordinate internal haulage and the external dispatch of ore
  • Manage truck dispatch schedules, turnaround time, load accuracy, and transport logs
  • Monitor and report on key logistics KPIs (fuel usage, truck utilization, and stock accuracy)
  • Ensure full compliance with SHERQ and MHSA regulations for fuel, transport, and storage
  • Supervise logistics team (dispatchers, fuel attendants, and truck controllers) and external contractors
  • Work closely with mining, plant, and maintenance teams to align logistics with production plans
Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile)
  • National Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Mining Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years logistics experience in a mining or heavy industry environment
  • Proven track record managing fuel / oil usage, ore stockpiles, and truck dispatch
  • Solid understanding of mining operations and inventory systems
  • Computer literacy MS Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP and Pronto)
  • Valid drivers license
