Job summary

On Line Personnel is seeking a Project Engineer (Logistics) in Port Elizabeth. The role focuses on implementing logistics requirements for new projects, planning warehouse layouts, and developing packaging specs for local, export, and CKD parts.

We require a mechanical/industrial/ logistics degree, 3+ years in logistics within automotive manufacturing, and 2+ years of project management experience. CAD and MS Office skills are essential, with strong analytical capabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in CAD and MS Office; advanced MS Excel skills will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of material handling, packaging and BNK, SGK, CAPEX and SEK costing principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of working independently.
• Knowledge of automotive procedures and systems to analyze, plan, develop, implement and maintain various contracts will an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Implement logistics requirements for new projects, production requests, divisional upgrades and approved improvement initiatives.
• Prepare production and warehouse concepts, layouts, drawings and material handling solutions.
• Develop packaging specifications for local, export, and CKD parts.
• Manage projects, suppliers, contracts, timelines and BNK, SGK, CAPEX and SEK budgets.
• Prepare enquiry requests, tenders, appropriations, and purchase requisitions.
• Coordinate acceptance, testing, and handover of logistics equipment and facilities.
• Develop and maintain logistics material handling contracts.
• Liaise with internal departments and external contractors.
