Overview

GIBB’s multi-award-winning Integrated Infrastructure (WIIG) Sector provides the roots for communities using innovative and sustainable engineering design, urban planning, and advisory services. This Sector is looking for another talented professional to complement their team, in the form of a Logistics Manager. Core Purpose

The Contracts Administrative Manager is responsible for monitoring, managing, analyzing, reporting and making recommendations on contractual, commercial, administrative and programme aspects of the Construction Works.

Key Performance Areas
  • Asset Management:
  • Overseeing the entire lifecycle of vehicles, from acquisition to disposal, including purchase, leasing, and decommissioning.
  • Maintenance & Scheduling:
  • Developing and implementing maintenance plans, monitoring vehicle performance, and scheduling upkeep to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Driver Management:
  • Monitoring driver behaviour, implementing corrective actions, and providing coaching and training to improve safety and productivity.
  • Operational Efficiency:
  • Optimizing routes, managing vehicle utilization, and ensuring real-time tracking to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
  • Compliance & Regulations:
  • Staying informed on transportation laws, environmental regulations, and company policies to ensure the fleet operates legally and sustainably.
  • Budget Management:
  • Managing fuel expenses, maintenance costs, and other operational budgets to achieve cost savings.
  • Technology Implementation:
  • Utilizing fleet management software and other technologies to simplify processes and improve data-driven decision-making.
  • Health & Safety:
  • Support the HSE Officers in enforcing HSE and Quality policies, plans and procedures; enforce a zero-tolerance stance on Health and Safety in the delivery of components from point of origin in South Africa to site; monitor all logistics activities and ensure compliance with transport permits and standards; support HSE Officers with logistics-related incident investigations; ensure logistics-related risk assessments are performed and updated regularly; advise HSE officers of concerns and resolutions.
  • Environmental:
  • Support the ESO, Project team and contractors to ensure compliance with the project EMPrs; logistics support to Construction Managers to ensure compliance with environmental requirements; supervise logistics and expediting function of contractors (i.e., Transport subcontractor); manage contractors to ensure components are delivered timely to the correct work areas.
  • Document management:
  • Oversee and manage logistics and transport-generated documentation and delivery notes.
  • Commercial:
  • Support Commercial team as required with logistics and delivery-related payment milestones.
  • Communication:
  • Effectively communicate company values and objectives; ensure effective communication between the project team, contractors and suppliers.
  • Reporting:
  • Fulfil logistics reporting obligations (weekly & monthly); internal team reporting and preparation of external reporting to the Client; report any logistics problems and issues to the Construction Project Managers and Contractors.
  • Quality:
  • Oversee logistics and transport processes to ensure quality systems and processes are adhered to; issue, monitor and review logistics NCRs to contractors.
  • Planning:
  • Compile and maintain a logistics and delivery schedule for all components related to the MCWAP-2; support Construction Project Manager and team to ensure key project milestones are met safely and timely.

  • Social Management
  • Support the Social Management team with interactions with the local communities on the transport routes.
