Logistics Coordinator job vacancy in Westlake, Cape Town.

Requirements:
- Grade 12, or similar qualification
 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role
 - A qualification in International Freight Management/ Transport Economics or Supply Chain Management would be advantageous
 - Good understanding of international import supply chain management is desirable
 - Thorough knowledge of domestic warehousing and courier operations
 - Strong administrative and numerical skills
 - Demonstrated commercial acumen
 - Working knowledge of CRM and ERP system – MS Business Central would be an added advantage
 - Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office 365
 - Able to work independently and accepts responsibility for own actions and the achievement of intended outcomes
 - Available for occasional domestic travel
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the movement, storage and distribution of stock
 - Responsible for the flow, management and efficient administration of supply chain documentation and processes
 - Manage the relationship and deliverables of logistics partners and vendors
 - Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to enhance customer service, increase sales & efficiency and the overall profitability of the business
 - Coordinate and support the movement and storage of inbound and outbound international shipments
 - Liaise with overseas suppliers (e.g. China), freight forwarders, couriers, and outsourced warehouse providers
 - Track air/sea shipments and customs clearance using waybill numbers
 - Investigate delayed or missing shipments and arrange alternative transport if needed
 - Generate supplier reports from ERP detailing ex-factory dates and freight modes
 - Provide customs clearance documents to Accounts Payable
 - Notify warehouse of incoming stock, check arrival schedules, and ensure proper stock handling (unpacking, checking, labelling)
 - Assist with negotiating vendor contracts and service level agreements (SLAs)
 - Monitor vendor performance and SLA compliance, addressing any performance issues
 - Support negotiations related to cost structures and pricing with vendors
 - Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors’ key stakeholders.
