Job summary

Dixie Recruitment in Stellenbosch is seeking a Logistics Controller to coordinate high-volume commodity movements, manage invoicing and financial administration, and ensure timely deliveries. Responsibilities include liaising with customers, transporters and internal teams, maintaining Excel schedules, and supporting month-end processes.

Qualifications

  • Matric and a Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field.
  • 4–6 years proven experience in logistics coordination.
  • Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, with large data sets.
  • Understanding of invoicing, credit notes, statements and basic financial principles.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Experience in FMCG, agricultural, commodity trading or high-volume environments is advantageous.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Very high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and significant financial values.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work additional hours during month-end.
  • Clear criminal and credit checks.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate movement of commodity loads from silos to mills according to contract requirements.
  • Manage daily logistics across allocated customer accounts and tonnages.
  • Liaise with customers, transporters, mills and internal departments for seamless delivery.
  • Monitor delivery schedules and resolve issues within tight deadlines.
  • Process and verify invoices, credit notes, statements and supply documentation.
  • Submit accurate documentation to Finance for payment.
  • Maintain accurate Excel schedules, reports and transaction records.
  • Manage high volumes of logistics transactions with high accuracy.
  • Monitor allocated tonnages and customer requirements.
  • Provide consistent communication and updates to customers.
  • Identify discrepancies and take corrective action.
  • Collaborate with Logistics Team Lead and wider team to maintain service levels.
  • Support month-end processes and work extra hours when required.
  • Learn and use the company's internal trading and logistics system.

LOGISTICS CONTROLLER, Stellenbosch

Our client is looking for an exceptional Logistics Controller to join a fast-paced commodity logistics environment where accuracy, strong administration and the ability to work under pressure are essential. This role is responsible for coordinating high-volume commodity movements while managing customer interaction, invoicing, financial administration and delivery requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Work closely with the Logistics Team Lead and wider logistics team to maintain service levels

  • Support month-end processes and work additional hours when required

  • Learn and utilise the company's internal trading and logistics system
