Job summary

A logistics recruitment firm is seeking a Logistics Administrator to support the efficient flow of goods from suppliers to customers. The successful candidate will manage delivery schedules, communicate with carriers, and maintain documentation. A minimum of Grade 12 and 2-4 years of relevant experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain, and strong administrative skills are essential.

T he Logistics Administrator plays a key role in supporting the efficient flow of goods from suppliers to customers. This position ensures that all logistical processes — from order scheduling and dispatch coordination to transport documentation and delivery tracking — are executed accurately and on time. The role serves as the vital communication link between internal departments, customers, and transport providers, ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational efficiency.

Description
Logistics Coordination & Support
  • Provide daily administrative support and coordinate delivery schedules and dispatch.
  • Plan routes, optimize vehicle use, and ensure compliance with delivery standards.
Carrier & Transport Management
  • Assist in managing transport providers and daily communication with carriers.
  • Monitor service performance and escalate delays to maintain efficiency.
Documentation & Recordkeeping
  • Prepare and file delivery notes, invoices, and PODs accurately.
  • Maintain shipment records and generate reports for audits and invoicing.
Communication & Customer Service
  • Serve as liaison between customers and transporters for updates and issues.
  • Communicate delivery changes promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
General Administration & Compliance
  • Support fleet administration, stock movement, and maintenance scheduling.
  • Uphold health, safety, and quality standards in all logistics operations.
Core Skills & Attributes

  • Comfortable using ERP systems, Excel, and logistics tracking software.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 / Matric (required).
  • A qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Administration (advantageous).
  • 2–4 years of experience in a logistics, transport, or warehouse administration role (wholesale or FMCG environment preferred).
  • Working knowledge of logistics software, order tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license (advantageous).
