Job summary

A mining firm is seeking an experienced Load Haul Dump Operator in Limpopo. The successful candidate will operate LHD equipment, ensuring safe loading and transportation of ore. A minimum of two years' experience as an LHD operator and relevant certifications are required. Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged South Africans, and applications are only open to South African citizens. Closing date for applications is 05 September 2025.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year’s practical experience in operating LHD equipment in an underground mining environment.
• Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground.

Responsibilities

• Optimal utilisation of LHD equipment to achieve mining targets.
• Minimisation of machine damage by adopting good operating practices.
• Loading and hauling of material to trucks and underground tip excavations.
• Assist the load & haul miner to perform workplace Safe Declaration.
• Ensure that the machine is refueled and cleaned at the end of every shift.
• Ensure that paperwork is filled in correctly.

Skills

Matric/ NQF Level 4

Ivanplats is looking for a Load Haul Dump (LHD) OPERATOR REF: IVP- MNG- 2522

IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state‑of‑the‑art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”.

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills

• Matric/ NQF Level 4
• LHD operators training certificate/ Licence.
• Two (2) years’ experience working as an LHD operator.
• Competent B certificate
• Responsible for safe loading and transportation of ore within the mine.

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience

• Minimum of 1 year’s practical experience in operating LHD equipment in an underground mining environment.
• Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground.
• Knowledge of underground trackless mobile equipment practices and operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to
