About the Role

Our client, operating extensive cattle farms near Rustenburg , is looking for a seasoned Livestock Manager to lead their animal husbandry operations. This role demands a proactive individual with profound knowledge of cattle management, breeding programs, and animal health. You will be responsible for ensuring the welfare and productivity of the herd, managing grazing lands, and optimizing breeding strategies to meet production targets. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the quality and health of the client's valuable livestock assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily care and management of a large cattle herd, ensuring optimal nutrition, health, and welfare.
• Implement and manage breeding programs, including artificial insemination and natural mating, to improve herd genetics.
• Monitor herd health, administer treatments for common diseases, and work with veterinarians on preventative care strategies.
• Manage grazing lands, implement rotational grazing systems, and ensure adequate water supply for livestock.
• Maintain detailed records of births, deaths, vaccinations, treatments, and production data for each animal.
