HotelJobs is seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead a premier luxury safari lodge in Thabazimbi, Limpopo. You will drive strategic direction, operational excellence and commercial performance, while delivering world-class guest experiences and sustainable practices.

The role requires deep hospitality leadership, remote-site experience, and strong financial acumen to optimise revenue, oversee budgets and nurture a high-performing team on site.

Formación

• Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism Management or a related field.
• Minimum 10-15 years' hospitality experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
• Proven experience managing a luxury safari lodge, remote hospitality operation or comparable luxury property.
• Strong understanding of the Southern African luxury tourism and safari market.
• Demonstrated financial, commercial and operational management capabilities.
• Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary teams in remote environments.
• Sound knowledge of revenue management, lodge systems, compliance and health and safety legislation.
• Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High emotional intelligence, resilience and a guest-focused approach.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee all lodge operations, including accommodation, F&B, guiding, guest activities, maintenance and conservation initiatives.
• Develop and implement annual business plans aligned with operational and financial objectives.
• Ensure consistent delivery of luxury service standards and operational excellence.
• Act as the key link between lodge operations and the Support Office.
• Represent the property professionally within the hospitality and tourism industry.
• Oversee the complete guest journey, ensuring personalised and memorable experiences.
• Maintain a visible presence, engaging with guests and leading by example.
• Manage guest feedback and service recovery.
• Ensure experiences showcase the property's wildlife, wilderness and conservation offerings.
• Continuously identify opportunities to enhance guest satisfaction and service standards.
• Manage annual budgets, forecasts and overall financial performance.
• Drive profitability through cost control, revenue optimisation and resource management.
• Oversee procurement, stock control and capital expenditure.
• Monitor KPIs including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and guest satisfaction.
• Lead, recruit, develop and retain a high-performing team.
• Build strong departmental leadership and accountability.
• Drive performance management and talent development.
• Foster a positive workplace culture focused on engagement and excellence.
• Work with central sales and marketing teams to drive occupancy, revenue and market positioning.
• Develop relationships with trade partners and support media visits and site inspections.
• Ensure compliance with labour legislation, health and safety requirements and standards.
• Oversee property maintenance, asset management and risk management.
• Champion responsible tourism, conservation and sustainable operating practices.
• Build relationships with conservation authorities, concession partners and local communities.
