A legal recruitment agency is looking for a Lawyer (Legal Services Manager) in Johannesburg, specializing in the mining industry. LAWYER-(LEGAL SERVICES MANAGER)-MINING INDUSTRY

Based Gauteng

R 1.7 million CTC per annum

Responsibilities
  • Suitable applicants must have VAST experience within the mining industry (minimum 8 years post qualification experience in commercial law / mining and /or litigation)
  • Sound experience in drafting, negotiating and interpreting complex commercial agreements and contracts
  • Must have sound knowledge of South Africa's legal and regulatory landscape specifically in relation to MINING, ENVIRONMENTAL and SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT legislation (MPRDA, NEMA, SLP's)
  • Provide specialized legal advice to the Group of companies in respect of strategic objectives focussing on commercial and mining law
  • Draft and review contracts
  • Manage litigation, represent the company in external legal matters
  • Ensure regulatory adherance
  • Advise on corporate transactions (mergers, acquisitions and due dilligence)
  • Ongoing legal research to identify potential risks, implications, requirements etc
