An established law firm based in Pretoria East is seeking a Legal Secretary for the Foreclosure & Secured Asset Litigation Department. The ideal candidate will have 4–6 years of experience in litigation, managing high-volume caseloads and proficiency in relevant software tools. Candidates should demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and the ability to work independently under pressure.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4–6 years' litigation experience in banking matters.
  • Experience managing high-volume caseloads of approximately 20 matters per day.
  • Experience in foreclosure / secured asset litigation.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting of banking litigation-related documentation.
  • Manage approximately 20 matters per day efficiently.
  • Liaise with banks, debtors, and Sheriff offices.

Overview

SUMMARY :

My Client, an established Law Firm based in Pretoria East, is looking for a Legal Secretary for the Foreclosure & Secured Asset Litigation Department.

Applicants must have a minimum of 4–6 years’ litigation experience in banking matters, managing high-volume caseloads (±20 matters daily) within strict turnaround times.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Applicants must have a minimum of 4–6 years’ litigation experience in banking matters, managing high-volume caseloads (±20 matters daily) with
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of DM11, Excalibur, OCS and Lexpro will be advantageous.
  • Prior experience in foreclosure / secured asset litigation specifically. Familiarity with ABSA’s internal processes / documentation.

Experience Required :

  • Drafting of Affidavits, Summonses, Section 129 notices, Warrants of attachment and all other banking litigation-related documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage approximately 20 matters per day.
  • Ability to perform well under immense pressure.
  • Ability to adhere to very strict turnaround times.
  • Ability to liaise with banks and debtors in the prescribed manner.
  • Ability to liaise with the Sheriff offices and other role players.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required by operational demands.
