Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage all legal affairs of Helios Towers South Africa (HTSA), ensuring compliance with local regulatory and governance requirements
- Develop and implement the HTSA legal strategy to safeguard assets and support business objectives
- Provide legal advice to the Managing Director and cross‑functional teams, analysing legal implications of business decisions
- Draft, review, negotiate, and renew contracts and commercial agreements with suppliers, contractors, landlords, and mobile network operators
- Independently manage litigation and contentious matters, working closely with external counsel
- Obtain, renew, and maintain company licenses and accreditations
- Act as Company Secretary, ensuring compliance with South African company law and alignment with Helios Towers' group policies
- Build and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, government bodies, and key stakeholders
- Manage and develop a small legal team, ensuring high performance and succession planning.
Requirements for the role
- Education: LLB or similar degree from a recognized South African university
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years' experience practising law, with at least 5 years in an in‑house role preferred
- Certifications: Admission as an attorney of the High Court or advocate advantageous
- Technical: Strong knowledge of South African commercial and labour law, contract management, and governance frameworks
- Language: Fluency in English; bilingualism preferred
- Other: South African citizen with a valid ID book / card; no criminal record.
