A recruitment agency is seeking a Legal Counsel for their Supply Chain division in Durban, South Africa. The ideal candidate will handle various aspects of commercial agreements, advise on legal risks, and support the procurement team. Required qualifications include an LLB Law and completed Articles, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in the logistics or shipping industry is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Experience with contract negotiation and data privacy regulations.

Our client in the Shipping Industry is seeking a Legal Counsel in their Supply Chain division to join their team.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including supply, distribution, logistics, services and procurement.
  • Advise on legal risks associated with the sourcing of goods and services, supplier onboarding,
  • Support procurement and supply chain teams with legal guidance on vendor relationships, contract performance, and dispute resolution.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide legal advice during audits or investigations involving supply chain activities.
  • Assist in the development of standardized templates and best practices for supply chain contracts and processes.
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience with contract negotiation and data privacy regulations.
  • LLB Law
  • Completed Articles.
  • Familiarity with Logistics / Supply Chain / Shipping Line Industry will be an advantage
