Responsibilities

• Draft and review legal agreements relevant to various business units including Collective Investment Scheme managers and financial service providers
• Analyse legislation and provide practical legal advice tailored to business needs
• Draft clear concise and commercially astute legal opinions
• Oversee legal documentation management and ensure compliance with relevant frameworks
• Report on legal risk matters to the line manager and contribute to risk forums

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with 15 years practical experience in a commercial law firm or financial institution
• Knowledge of CISCA FAIS and the Financial Sector Regulation Act is advantageous
• Understanding of the Protection of Personal Information Act preferred
• Familiarity with investment-related regulations (e.g. Regulation 28 Insurance Act Medical Schemes Act) is a plus
• Strong commercial legal experience within the financial services sector is highly desirable
